Message The fuel temp sensor is only used by the ECU within the first 30 seconds of engine start to activate the PRVR solenoid if the fuel temperature is above 75C. It is safe to remove the PRVR system, but disconnecting the temp sensor will cause an error code.

It is also possible to keep PRVR functionality while eliminating the fuel temp sensor, in fact, the ECU already contains code to control the PRVR based on coolant temperature instead of fuel temperature. This requires setting the appropriate control bits in the EPROM and disabling the fuel temp sensor error code.
